Being a mom is hard work on it’s own but if you add in waking up early on a work day, you’ll have your hands full! All of your plans you had for the morning are down the drain, so what do you do now? Keep calm, get your booty in the shower and grab yourself some caffeine! At least that’s what I did this morning.

My daughter woke up around 4:15 AM with no sign of any discomfort except maybe just dry mouth. After gulps of water, a bit of a nutrition bar and a few slurps of yogurt we were back in mommy’s bed trying to get some more shut eye.
I’ve always been against co-sleeping because I’m all for keeping the romance alive with my husband. If we have a child sleeping with us each night, when would we have our alone time? Well, when you have a child sometimes what you think might be best gets thrown out the window. It’s super hard to cope with that, especially being a complete control freak when it comes to my pre-thought-out rules before my daughter was born.

After many sleepless nights when Amelia was an infant I’ve learned that fighting a child when she clearly doesn’t want to be in her crib is pointless, especially if you have somewhere to be in less than 4 hours. This morning I kept calm, took a little nap, jumped in the shower and put my face on. Tonight there may be an early bedtime for mommy and baby, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Going with the flow is always the best policy with my daughter.
